Partners in Community Growth and Opportunity

Setting Euclid Residents Up For Housing Success

At Euclid Development Corporation (EDCOR), we believe that every resident deserves access to safe, affordable housing and resources to help build a better future. Since our founding in 1978, we've worked tirelessly to uplift and empower our community members through innovative programs and services.

In partnership with the City of Euclid, our organization was born out of a desire to create more equitable housing opportunities for Euclid residents. We recognize that too many of our neighbors lacked the means to make critical home repairs or achieve first-time homeownership. That’s why we set out to provide the helping hand they need to obtain safe housing and begin building generational wealth.

Today, EDCOR administers various initiatives that align with our mission of investing in our residents:

  • Low Interest Home Improvement Loan Program: This 3% interest loan helps income-eligible homeowners make essential upgrades like replacing faulty electrical systems, fixing structural issues, and more. Applicants must meet federal income guidelines to qualify.

  • Down Payment Assistance: We offer down payment support for income-qualified first-time homebuyers who may not qualify for traditional loans and programs. This aid makes the dream of homeownership attainable.

  • Financial Counseling & Education: We work with partners to provide customized guidance to help residents manage finances, repair credit, and prepare for major purchases like a home.

At EDCOR, we don’t just see loan applicants and program participants—we see incredible potential for our community. We bring compassion, expertise, and a relentless drive to help our residents gain access to safe, stable housing.

We invite you to learn more about EDCOR's offerings and impact in Euclid. Please email info@edcor.org or download an application to get started. With your partnership, we can continue building a Euclid that offers opportunity and equity for all who call it home.

Building Stronger Neighborhoods, One Home at a Time

by Lisa Krieger

Remember that house on your street—the one with the sagging porch and crumbling driveway? Now picture it transformed: sturdy steps that welcome visitors, smooth concrete that makes you proud. This transformation is happening all over Euclid, and it started with a simple truth: when we help each other, our whole community grows stronger.

"This grant helped me turn my faded home into one of the best on the street," one neighbor told us recently. "I am beyond blessed." Her joy captures exactly why we created the Neighborhood Opportunity Grant Program in 2024—to help families like yours make the improvements that matter most.
The response proves we're meeting a real need. In just two years, nearly 350 families have applied, and we've awarded 103 grants totaling $707,900. That's $707,900 invested directly into our neighborhoods, into our shared future.

Here's what matters most: this program is for you. If you're income-qualified you are eligible to receive up to $7,500 for visible home improvements. You contribute just 10% of project costs. We help with everything else—finding trusted contractors, managing bids, ensuring quality work.
One resident replaced his entire driveway and discovered an unexpected blessing—the new concrete stopped water from seeping into his basement, a problem he'd battled for years. Another elderly neighbor can now safely navigate her front steps thanks to new handrails. These aren't surface fixes. They're investments in safety, health, and dignity.

But here's what truly excites me: the ripple effect. When your neighbor fixes their porch, you start noticing your own front steps. When you replace your driveway, the family across the street considers new gutters. This is how neighborhoods transform—not through grand gestures, but through individual families taking pride in their homes, inspiring others to do the same. Property values rise. Children play on safer sidewalks. Elderly residents maintain independence. We all benefit.
We’ve funded energy-efficient windows that seal tight, roofs that no longer leak, and porches that hold steady. But concrete tops the list. One smooth driveway leads to another, and soon an entire block looks safer, stronger, and more welcoming. This is more than repair. It’s resilience.

The next application window is brief: December 5–19, 2025. Many families will apply in those two weeks. The process is simple, the impact lasting, and we are ready to help you every step of the way. Watch the Euclid Observer, our website (www.edcor.org), and our social media accounts for more details about when we’ll have open application days to assist residents with their applications in person.
December 5th is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a chance to restore homes, lift neighborhoods, and strengthen the spirit of Euclid—one front porch, one driveway, one proud homeowner at a time.
